Walker’s has a system to fit your needs and your budget.  York air conditioning systems are designed for efficiency, reliability and comfort. Count on Walker’s to provide you with the right system for total comfort and energy savings.

Central Home Heating Systems

A central heating system – often called a “forced air system” – sends air into your home through ductwork installed above ceilings or in walls. The advantage is that the airstream can be filtered and humidified to make your home more comfortable. Economically, today’s gas furnace technology is so efficient that up to 98% of the fuel in our most efficient furnace is turned into useable heat.

Home Thermostats and Programmable Controls

When first invented, thermostats merely turned heating and cooling equipment on or off at certain temperatures. Today’s thermostats are more intelligent. In addition to basic temperature control, they can be programmed to fit your family’s schedule and communicate with equipment to ensure proper function. Walker’s Heating & Cooling Systems can advise you on a system that will improve the comfort and energy efficiency of your home.

Central Air Conditioning Systems

A central air conditioning system also distributes air through ductwork to provide cooling, ventilation, heating (if using a heat pump) and humidity control. Central air conditioners can either be split systems or packaged units. A split system air conditioner comes in two parts: an indoor unit that integrates with an air handler or a furnace, and an outdoor unit with a compressor and condenser coil. When these components are properly matched, the system runs very efficiently.

Home Ventilation Systems and Indoor Air Quality

Today’s “tight” building construction traps pollutants indoors. That’s why, according to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), indoor air in “homes and other buildings can be more seriously polluted than the outdoor air.” Most people spend approximately 90% of their time indoors, so the health risks from pollutants inside are often greater than outside! Poor indoor air quality can cause dizziness and headaches and complicate allergies and asthma. Air cleaners and ventilators can introduce fresh outside air without wasting energy. Using central humidifying or dehumidifying equipment can also help improve indoor air quality.

Geothermal

Provide year round comfort, deliver excellent energy efficiency and reduce your heating and cooling costs by up to 60-70%.

GEOTHERMAL

Smarter From The Ground Up

Heating and Cooling

Water Furnace systems use the Earth’s ability to store heat energy as a perfect source for high efficiency heating and cooling. Using advanced technology, Water Furnace systems tap into that store energy to provide comfort for your home year round. Heat energy is collected and transferred through an earth loop-an underground pipping system. With Water Furnace system, you’ll not only save money, but you’ll experience enhanced comfort and safe, quite operation with a system that’s environmentally friendly. That’s why we call it “Smarter from the Ground Up”. Energy efficient, environmentally friendly, economical geothermal systems use energy from a variety of renewal energy sources found right in your own backyard.

Reduced costs

Geothermal heating improves your home environment, reduces the cost of equipment maintenance and reduces the carbon foot print of your home, all while saving money.

How Geothermal Works

The fundamentals of a geoexchange system ar e quite simple. A ground heat exchanger uses the thermal energy stor ed in the earth as a sour ce for heating and as a sink (depository) for cooling. The temp erature of the earth starting at a depth of only a few metr es below the surface r emains constant at appr oximately 10 degr ees celsius thr oughout the year, even in the middle of winter with a thick covering of snow on the ground.

Specially designed high density polyethylene pipes ar e buried in the gr ound and filled with an ethanol antifr eeze solution. This creates an ef ficient heat exchange fluid which is cir culated through the pipes and deliver ed back to the heat pump, which is installed in the basement where the furnace would traditionally be located.

The collected energy is concentrated by the heat pump which the n transfers this heating (or cooling) energy into the home by way of a for ced air ventilation system.

In the summer months the pr ocess is r eversed and heat is drawn out of the home and deposited back in the gr ound. In the cooling mode, the ground acts as a heat sink to absorb this excess thermal energy.

Ductless

Mitsubishi Electric manufactures ductless split air conditioner and heat pump systems consist of two small units – one outdoor and one (or more) indoor. No ductwork is needed, and your windows remain secure.

Ductless

Stylish, Compact & Energy Efficient

Mitsubishi Electric | Air Conditioner and heat pump

Traditionally, your choice of air conditioning systems would consist of window-mounted or central air units. Each, however, has its drawbacks. Window units are bulky and block the view and street-level units can be removed, leaving your building exposed to entry. Central systems require a duct network, and generally only cool rooms to a standard temperature. So, what’s the alternative?

Mitsubishi Electric manufactures ductless split air conditioner and heat pump systems which consist of two small units – one outdoor and one (or more) indoor. The outdoor unit can be installed on a balcony, a rooftop or next to your building and is linked to the indoor unit through two small easy-to-install refrigerant lines. The indoor units are wall mounted, blend into your decor, and can be operated independently from other indoor units, allowing each room or area to be heated or cooled separately. No ductwork is needed, and your windows remain secure.

The efficiency of air conditioners is often rated by the Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER). The higher the SEER rating of a unit, the more energy efficient it is. Mitsubishi Electric models feature one of the highest SEER ratings in the industry. Some models may qualify for government incentives. Mr. Slim is easy, cost-effective and uses up to 30% less energy than conventional systems.

Enhance your life with the comfort and convenience of a Mr. Slim ductless heating and cooling system. Easy to install and easy to maintain, Mr. Slim single and multi-split systems are stylish, compact, quiet, secure and energy efficient. Whether you want to enjoy your cottage year round or just feel comfortable in your home, there’s a Mr. Slim solution that’s just right for you. Gas Condensing Boilers

A gas-fired condensing boiler is one of the most economical and clean ways to generate heat and can significantly reduce your monthly heating bills, as well as your environmental footprint.

BOILERS

Achieve Excellent Efficiency & Protect The Environment

How to Save with condensing technology

Condensing technology not only utilizes the heat from the combustion of gas, but also the unused heat that would escape up the chimney with a conventional heating system. Condensing boilers achieve excellent efficiency by extracting almost all of the heat contained in the flue gases and converting it into additional heating energy.

To do this, Viessmann condensing boilers are equipped with a corrosion-resistant, stainless steel Inox-Radial heat exchanger, which cools the flue gases before they are routed into the chimney. By doing this, the water vapor contained within the gases is deliberately condensed, and the additional heat released is transferred into the heating system.

By choosing a condensing boiler, you will not only benefit from reduced monthly bills, but will also make an active contribution towards protecting the climate and the environment.

Radiant In Floor

From new homes to renovations, Uponor Radiant Floor Heating is the perfect addition to any home. Energy-efficient warmth radiates up from the floor to warm your home and works with all types of flooring surfaces.

Radiant In Floor

Invest In Comfort

In-floor Radiant Heating

In a radiant floor heating system, warm water flows through flexible, durable crosslinked polyethylene (PEX) tubing that is embedded under the floor. The warmth radiates up from the floor to warm objects and people in a room.

Radiant floor heating systems work with all types of flooring surfaces, including carpet, wood, tile, stone, laminate and concrete. In fact, radiant systems can even be used to melt snow and ice from driveways and walkways, eliminating the need to salt or shovel.

And because radiant systems work in “zones”, you can adjust temperatures in different areas of the home at the same time. So unoccupied rooms have a different temperature than occupied rooms — making the system even more energy-efficient.

From new homes to renovations, Uponor Radiant Floor Heating is the perfect addition to any home. Uponor tubing can be installed in standard concrete or poured floor underlayment. PEX tubing installed between the joists is an easy application which is great for retrofitting a home for comfort. For any project, reliable Uponor Radiant Floor Heating is an investment in comfort.

Concrete Floors

In lower levels, basements and garages, Uponor PEX tubing is tied to the reinforcing mesh before the slab is poured. Radiant floor is very easy and cost effective to install in concrete.

Poured FLoor Underlayment

Uponor PEX tubing is installed over suspended wood floors and covered with poured floor underlayment

Suspended Floors

Uponor PEX tubing is placed over the subfloor. The tubing rests in heat transfer plates. This is an alternative to lightweight concrete and is excellent for remodeling projects or additions.

Between Joists

Uponor PEX tubing can be installed between the floor joists. Between the joist heating is perfect for remodeling projects, additions and for heating the upper floors of your new home.
